Feature & Follow Friday (10)

Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Basically, follow me and say hi in the comments, and I'll follow you back!

This week's features are: Galavanting Girl Books and Lost in Thought.

Q: What New Years Blogging or Writing resolution have you placed on yourself?

A: I'm not too sure about blogging; I'm pretty happy doing what I do, and I think that's all the time I have. Since I'm going off to college soon, I'll have even less time, but I do want to keep reading as much as I can (100 books goal this year), since there are tons of interesting books that are coming out in 2013 (refer to my New Year's Readsolution!).

I also write on the side, and I just want to finish something of all the works in progress I have clogging up my files. I'm this close to wrapping up almost three of my stories, but I just haven't been able to sit down and finish.

Feature & Follow Friday (9)

Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Basically, follow me and say hi in the comments, and I'll follow you back!

This week's features are: Novel Reveries and Oh! Paper Pages.

Q: Activity! Who is your to-die-for book crush? What do you think they look like? Add an image to make us all happy.

A: God, this is so hard. I had to refer to my Goodreads list of swoon-worthy men to decide. One of them would probably be Raphael from Angelfall, just because I have a thing for ass-kicking, snarky angels (who are written well). And I have a very fitting picture for him too:
Also, I really like Ash from Iron Fey because I totally dig his whole chivalry thing. For him, I chose Adam Gregory!

Now I want to reread these books again!

Feature & Follow Friday (8)

This week's features are: Northern Plunder and The Authoress

Q: What hyped up book do you think was all the talk?

A: Angelfall by Susan Ee. It's self-published, and at first glance it looks like any other YA novel, but once you open it, you can't put it down. I was mind blown after I finished, and people I introduced the book to were amazed by the beauty of the writing and plot as well.

Feature & Follow Friday (7)

This week's features: Book Me! and Awesomesauce Book Club.

Q: Worst cover? What is the worst cover of a book that you’ve read and loved?

A: I actually thought the cover for City of Bones was really ugly. It looked really messy and I had no idea what was going on, so even though I always saw it at the library, I never touched it. Then I read The Infernal Devices and decided to give it a try, and to my surprise, I actually enjoyed it a lot.

Also, none of the covers for the Vampire Academy series are that appealing, but the storyline is amazing. Thought I'd mention that.

There's my story! What's yours? Comment and let me know!

Feature & Follow Friday (6)

Follow Friday is a meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Basically, follow me and say hi in the comments, and I'll follow you back!

This week's featured blogs: The Book Reaper and Ed & Em's Reviews

Q: What blogger inspires you? It can be any kind, it doesn’t have to be a book blog.

A: A blogger I've always admired is Wendy from The Midnight Garden because she writes such wonderful reviews. Even when she's saying something snarky, she makes it seem sophisticated, and though she doesn't employ many gifs or anything, her words say enough. Also, she's so polite and sweet when you're talking to her, and it makes her a great person in addition to a good reviewer.

Feature & Follow Friday (5)

This week's featured blogs: Compelled by Words & The Bookshelf Review

Q: What would you do if you had to start your blog again from scratch?

A: I don't think there's much I'd change, actually. I'd probably try to learn more about HTML and coding, but that kind of stuff requires a ton of time, and I remember the long days spent freaking out over design before I launched my blog. I like my URL, and I'm happy with my blog. Things definitely could have been worse!

This week's featured blogs: Books are my reality & Concise Book Reviews

Q: Summer Reading. What was your favorite book that you were REQUIRED to read when you were in school?

A: Streetcar Named Desire, hands down. I love that it's a play, but Williams manages to make it so vivid and haunting despite his limited access to description. To Kill a Mockingbird and Grapes of Wrath are probably close seconds.

This week's featured blogs: Booktastic Reviews & A Glass of Wine

Q: Christmas in July! Someone gives you a gift card for two books (whatever that costs). What two books will you buy?
A: This is a hard one! *indecisive* I think, right now, the two books I most want to read are Throne of Glass and Seraphina.

A GREAT Read

Q: What drove you to start book blogging in the first place?

A: I wanted another outlet to express my book thoughts! You have to agree that internet+books=paradise. It's a very reasonable equation. Also, I had so many other accounts (GR, Tumblr, Pinterest, FP, Twitter, etc), that I figured I should get a Blogger one, too!

Follow me on GFC, Linky, or Twitter, and I will return the favor!

Q: Birthday Wishes -- Blow out the candles and imagine what character could pop out of your cake...who is it and what book are they from?
A: You can't ask me about someone jumping out of a birthday cake and expect me not to think of strippers. In celebration of the release of Magic Mike, I'd have to say Channing Tatum and Alex Pettyfer. And if we're talking fictional characters, then I'd have to say Lucas from Easy by Tammara Webber. Mmmm.
